For the last four months the Windows Update tool hasn't worked at all. I have manually installed several updates using downloads. When I first launched the Update Assistant, it said, "This PC is windows 10 enterprise contact your system administrator to upgrade free download not running the latest and most secure version of Windows This PC is running version The latest version is Operating System: Contact your system administrator to upgrade Windows Server or Enterprise editions.

I do not want to re-install Windows, since I have a couple of hundred applications and it would take a week to try to get them re-loaded.

Windows 10 Enterprise can only be upgraded by downloading the latest version through the Volume License Service Center then performing a manual upgrade; or upgrading through Windows Update. Are you using your computer in an organization? If so, you should contact your system administrator about upgrading.
